Y'all might be sick of these, but I'm playing along for fun's sake. DA only gets one Quinceanera, right? (I mean, I can't be the only one who anthropomorphizes this site as a Latin-American girl. I just can't be. Whatever, let's do this.)

What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
"The Tale of Dongs and Bongs" (which I swear to God is true):
This one time, I saw that a dude (in his 20s or 30s, if I remember correctly) had requested critique on a Nintendo DS screencap. I politely let him know that unless he helped create the game, he shouldn't ask for crits (or asspats, as I'm sure was the translation in his mind). A month or so goes by. All quiet, nothing to report. Then I notice some activity regarding someone posting an abundance of stolen MLP porn covered with pot leaves. It turns out that something had made DS guy snap and try to get himself banned (because deactivating without a fuss wouldn't have allowed him this blaze of... "glory", I guess). Scores of well-meaning commenters warned against what he was doing, to which he maturely responded by calling each of them a "faggot" on their profiles. And yes, I saw several of those messages, even receiving one myself. But mine was the only one I know of that was graced with a poorly-executed Muro drawing of a penis. In a sick way, it flattered me: So many "faggots", yet only one got the D. Needless to say, everyone reported him and he was banned for life. Many lulz were had. But, truth be told, I feel bad for the guy, and hope and pray he's matured and grown more comfortable with his art and his life. Because anyone who supplies such rare hilarity to so many people deserves to be happy.

Quarantine beans
HEY wow so it's been over a year since I posted a journal entry. Might as well talk about that thing that's on the news 24/7.
It's weird, man. I was going to move back in March, but that didn't pan out for obvious reasons. Now I have piles of nonessential stuff lying around waiting to be packed, and since my lease is in effect and the real estate company is beholden to lenders, I have to pay rent on the new place despite not being there.
But frankly I'm lucky that's the only way the virus has impacted me. I'm healthy, and so are my family and friends. I have a job (I worked from home already, so nothing's changed), food, a roof over my head
RAW Cincinnati!
Hey, everyone! If you're in the Cincinnati area on March 7th, stop by this year's RAW art show and say hi! For ten years, these folks have made it easy for creatives all over the world to network and showcase their talent. You can buy tickets through my page here, so if you want to enjoy a fun evening of vibrant, inspiring art, don't wait! (And I'm told there will also be drinks.)
See you there! :boogie:
Ko-fi and commissions OPEN
Oh hey, long time no journal entry. Figured I might as well update this, as the last one's over a year old now.
The reason I haven't been as active as I have in the past is because I took on loads of client work last year, often multiple projects at once. This led to 2018 becoming my best financial year yet, which enabled me to fully pay off two out of three student loans (hallelujah praise the Lord!). But there's still a lot of work to do. My new goal is to pay off the final (and biggest) loan within five years, and since freelance work isn't always steady, I'll need more ways to shore up that income. I envy those of you who don't live in t
Little victories
Obligatory end-of-year post, summin' things up.
I feel I've grown a little this year. Not a lot, but a little. As a person I've become more empathetic and attentive to others' needs. And hey, I crossed two items off my bucket list (namely seeing a total solar eclipse and eating crickets), which is two more than last year. Not too shabby!
Creatively, I've made strides in sharpening my observational skills, getting a better handle on color, finishing side projects I've wanted/needed to tackle for years, piecing together an actual plot for my characters' story, and refining my technique preferences in general. I continue to struggle with motiv
