Tl;dr: AI image generators suck and so do all the major 'art' platforms. I’m trading the loathsome ArtStation, Twitter, and Instagram for Pillowfort, Artfol, and Inkblot. (And looking for other suggestions on galleries to try! Tell me where you guys are at!) I’m struggling to detach myself from long-time online home deviantArt, but I think morally and for our own good we should probably all gtfo from this place sooner than later. An actual lawsuit has finally been leveled at dA (for DreamUp, as part of a larger suit over Stable Diffusion) and I have some dumb hope it will spook sense into this site. This is a long read, don't feel obligated. Like many of us, I've been working through a lot of things lately and writing helps me get my thoughts in order. If AI and the sorry state of art sites have been on your mind, maybe it will help you too. — So. When I popped back online in November I was looking to rejoin the art community, to share my work again and reconnect with old friends

Things I Wish I Knew before Buying a Wacom Cintiq
I just abandoned Wacom Cintiq’s altogether after 8 years now, hello to my new XP-Pen Workspace ;) If you want to know more, here is the link to the full review of the 22“ Artist Tablet 2nd Gen from XP-Pen which I tested thoroughly: https://www.fantasio.info/2021/02/xp-pen-22-artist-2nd-gen-review.html If you have questions about the 24" Pro, I can answer them in the comments... And below you find my personal story about why I would not recommend a Wacom Product larger than 13" to anyone: Just a quick note that I’m not affiliated with XP-Pen or Wacom. I just am a negative example on how long and how much bullshit people can take for granted and even pay premium for it. Luckily, I had the opportunity to test the XP-Pen Tablet and this was a good time to see what other manufacturers are up to. Below you can learn more about my reasons on why I abandoned Wacom Products altogether - this is personal and has nothing to do with the review in general. The main Issue - Wacom
Update Regarding Flash Animations on DeviantArt by team, journal
Update Regarding Flash Animations on DeviantArt
In 2017, Adobe announced that their long-time animation program, Adobe Flash, would reach its end of life as a program at the conclusion of 2020, after over 20 years of prominence on the internet. Along with it, support for the animation viewer Flash Player was discontinued, and at this point modern web browsers have blocked the Flash plugin from running, as it is out of date. While the circumstances of Flash reaching its end of life are out of our control, it goes without saying that Flash animations were a significant part of DeviantArt’s past. Viral sensations like Line Rider and Animator vs. Animation were highlights of the internet as a whole during the early to mid-2000s. The impact Flash animation had — especially in the early years of its existence — is impossible to ignore. For many, the creativity that came from Flash artists around the globe shaped the way internet humor and conversation of the time happened, guided how internet humor would evolve, and encouraged many

Upcoming Improvements to Core Membership
We’re lowering the price of Core, adding new benefits, and introducing two new packages for deviants who want to get even more from their DeviantArt experience. When reimagining Core Membership, it was important to create packages that meet the diverse needs of the DeviantArt community. For some deviants, this means a Core package that emphasizes increased customization and early access to new features, while for others, it means a Core package that enhances their ability to monetize. This is the first step at expanding Core Membership and adding flexibility to meet the needs of more deviants. The new price of Core Membership has been reduced from $5.00 USD per month to $3.95 per month. This includes all features currently in the Core package — plus new ones! For deviants who want even more, we’ve created two new packages: Core+ and Core Pro. These packages offer lower fees on your digital sales and the ability to set higher prices, so it’s perfect for those looking to maximize their
Chadwick Boseman, an actor well-known and well-loved around the world, passed away last week. There have been many posts around the Internet about his passing, and we want to pay tribute to him as well by sharing works in honor of him from artists within the community. Chadwick Boseman’s first leading role in a feature film was Jackie Robinson in 42, portraying the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball. This was one of several instances where he portrayed a historical figure on screen, and he never shied away from that, having been quoted as saying, “People have said, 'You don't need to do any more biopics. You don't need to play any more real people.' I don't agree with that.” He took the importance of depicting African-American historical figures in film and theatre seriously, and he gave each and every role he played the knowledge and understanding that person deserved. Whether he was on the field as Jackie Robinson, dancing on stage as James Brown, or standing
So, I don't much update this profile, I am horrible at keeping up on my social media. I mostly use twitter these days. However, I actually signed in today to comment on someone who is profiting off of using Artbreeder (or something similar) and profiting off of other people's work. When called out, they delete/disable comments! Like the adult, totally legit artist that they are and they remove the "art" piece so they can't be traced back to them. So Imma just gonna post these here since they can't get to and delete these. Personal note: using other people's art, stealing it, claiming it as your own and even putting in a copyright notification in their descriptions?! Wow! Just Wow!
